How can you make money from your Pinterest account
As you may know or may not know, the first project on this site is growing a Pinterest account from scratch. Part 1 is here. Whilst we are getting the account set-up and attracting loads of followers, it gives us time to think of ways that it is possible to make money using Pinterest. I hope this gives you plenty of ideas how you can make a side income using your passion for pins.
Making money on Pinterest
1. Share links to your website
The best way to use your Pinterest to make an income is to have a blog or website that runs along side your account. That way you can use your following and fantastic content to bring more traffic to your website. You can then use monetisation methods on your website to convert that traffic into pounds.
2. Affiliate Marketing
This is a topic that I will be doing a longer post on soon, but in the mean time a brief overview. Affiliate marketing is promoting someone else’s product or service and receiving a commission if you introduce a customer who goes on to buy. A really simple example would be me telling you that my favourite book is Zorba the Greek by Nikos Kazantakis. Now you can see that I have added a link on the title. If you click through that link it will take you to Amazon (uk). If you should buy that book, I would receive a small commission (trust me on amazon book the commission is small).
The principle for Pinterest affiliate marketing is the same except your links are pictures and amazon links don’t work very well.
3. Link up your Youtube
Do you have a youtube channel? Then why not direct traffic to it from your Pinterest account. Just as your Pins can be about anything, so can your Youtube videos. Pinterest is a great way to generate traffic to outside sources. If you can drive people to your Youtube channel, then you can maximise the income you make on your videos.
4. Drive traffic to your social media
It could be said that it is much easier to make money through other social media platforms than pinterest, so why not use that to your advantage. It would be easy enough to set up a Facebook page and then drive traffic to it from your Pinterest account. Convert these to likes on Facebook then ultimately build your audience that way.
5. Drive traffic to your Hubpages
This is a route I am definately going to explore. Hubpages is a platform that i have used in the past and want to promote as a viable way to make an income online.
Hubpages is a network of websites that allow you to post about any topic you like as long as the content is high quality. You then earn an income based on the amount of visits your post receives. It is basically a profit share from adsense. The real rick to making money on it is to drive your own traffic to your articles. I see a project coming up here too 😉
If you want to check out hubpages, you can use this link. I will receive a small commission which will not affect the amount you earn, should you choose to use my link. If you do use my link then follow me on hubpages, and ill be sure to check out your awesome hubs.
There are other ways to make money using Pinterest such as becoming a Pinterest Virtual assistant but that isn’t what we are looking for. I will definately be looking to drive traffic to my website and also eventually do a little affiliate marketing. When i do this will become a new project so that you can follow along the full journey
